Panagiotis (Panos) Papanastasiou is a Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Cyprus (UCY), where he also served as Founding President (2002–2008), Dean of the School of Engineering (2009–2014), and Director of the Natural Gas Engineering Master's Program (2013–present). He is a Research Partner at NIREAS International Water Center and member of the Phaethon Research Center Board. His career includes roles as a research scientist at Schlumberger Cambridge Research (1991–2002) and advisor to Cypriot hydrocarbon policies (2011–2017).
