Dr Oznur Yardimci is a Research Fellow at the School for Business and Society, University of York, focusing on urban marginalities, citizenship, and belonging. She holds a PhD in Sociology from Lancaster University, with prior degrees in International Relations (Middle East Technical University) and Political Science. Her research explores state-led urban redevelopment, citizenship dynamics, and activist responses to crises like the pandemic. She has held roles as a Visiting Research Fellow in the Department of Sociology, contributed to the Centre for Urban Research, and led fieldwork in London for the 'Citizenship Futures: The Politics of Hope' project. Current projects include examining Turkish-speaking migrants in London and the role of urban religious architecture in North Yorkshire. Awards include an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship (2020).
