معرفی
Owen Jepps is a Senior Lecturer and Deputy Head of School (Learning and Teaching) at Griffith University's School of Environment and Science. He teaches mathematics courses ranging from preparatory to Honours level.
Education:
- BA/BSc (Hons), Australian National University (1996)
- PhD, Australian National University (2001)
Research Interests: Owen's research spans nanoscale mass transport physics, including applications in industrial gas separation and medical drug delivery through skin. His current focus includes pedagogical innovations in mathematical problem-solving and creating employment-oriented experiences for science students.
Publication Trends: His 35+ publications demonstrate consistent focus on mathematical modeling of physical systems, with recent works emphasizing pharmaceutical applications (dermal drug delivery) alongside foundational contributions to statistical physics and thermodynamics. Early publications established frameworks for molecular transport in confined systems, while recent articles bridge theoretical physics with practical biomedical challenges.
Awards:
- Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2019-present)
Supervision and Grants: Owen has supervised 10+ doctoral students in mathematics, physics, and biomedical modeling. His funded research includes:
- ARC Discovery Project: Modeling of Transdermal Transport Using Computational Molecular Simulation (2008-2009, $78,063)
- APAC Grant: Modeling of transdermal transport using molecular simulation (2009)
- Griffith University Internal Grant: Modeling autoimmune disease in immune-privileged environments (2010-2011, $20,000)
Leadership: As BSc Program Director, he oversees curriculum development and student engagement initiatives across science disciplines.
