Ove Schaffalitzky

Ove Schaffalitzky is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Clinical Research at the University of Southern Denmark, affiliated with Odense University Hospital (OUH). He has held this academic and clinical position since 1987 and continues to be an active educator, researcher, and medical practitioner in gastroenterology and internal medicine.

His educational background includes extensive pedagogical training, such as courses in problem-based learning from the American Gastroenterological Association and multiple AMEE conferences. He has played key roles in curriculum development and examination design at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Dr. Schaffalitzky’s research focuses on gastrointestinal diseases, particularly peptic ulcer bleeding, endoscopic treatments, chronic pancreatitis, functional disorders, and evidence-based clinical practice. His recent publications reflect a strong emphasis on clinical trials, endoscopic interventions, and critical appraisal of medical literature. Trends in his work show consistent contributions to improving diagnostic and therapeutic standards in gastroenterology.
