Otto Fluder

Otto Fluder is a Senior Lecturer in Control Theory at ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences, School of Engineering, specializing in Modelling and Control of Dynamic Systems. He works at the Institute of Mechatronic Systems and has been affiliated with ZHAW since 2013, teaching and leading the LabVIAW (CLAD-Certified).

• Education: MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University (1990-1992), BSc in Mechanical Engineering from HTL Technikum Winterthur (1985-1988).

Fluder's research spans control theory, mechatronic systems, noise and vibration control, and smart structures. His work focuses on industrial applications like weaving machinery, test bench design, and H-infinity methods for robust control.

His recent publications highlight advancements in instructional test benches for smart drives (2024) and innovative uses of stepper motors in industrial automation (2020), alongside earlier contributions to textile machinery control systems and smart structures.

Fluder brings extensive R&D experience to ZHAW, having led projects at Sulzer Innotec (1999-2001), ITEMA (2001-2013), and ESEC SA (1992-1999). His expertise includes dynamics and acoustics in engineering systems.
