Osman TEKİN serves as Assistant Professor at Adiyaman University's Faculty of Dentistry since 2013, concurrently holding key administrative roles including Vice Dean (2014–present) and Director of the Research and Application Center (2016–present). Previously, he spent 13 years at Dicle University (1987–2000) progressing from Research Assistant to Doctor Lecturer in Clinical Sciences, while also practicing clinically with the Ministry of Health (2000–2013).
His educational foundation includes:
- Dentistry degree from Dicle University Faculty of Dentistry (1982–1987)
- Doctorate in Clinical Sciences from Dicle University Faculty of Dentistry (1988–1992)
Professor Tekin's research centers on Restorative Dentistry with significant contributions to Conservative Dentistry techniques. His work uniquely bridges clinical restoration methodology (particularly crown-root interfaces in premolars), pediatric dental health examining nutritional impacts, and public health dentistry analyzing oral health disparities in vulnerable populations like refugees. This interdisciplinary approach connects technical dental practice with community health outcomes through practical clinical applications.
His publication record, though concentrated in the early 1990s, reveals consistent thematic development across three national journal articles: advancing restoration techniques, documenting pediatric nutrition-dental health relationships, and establishing early frameworks for refugee oral health assessment. These works collectively demonstrate methodological rigor in clinical observation combined with public health perspective.
As academic administrator, Professor Tekin oversees institutional research strategy through his Directorship of the Research and Application Center, while his Vice Dean role involves academic program development and clinical training oversight. His leadership focuses on strengthening research infrastructure and community engagement within Adiyaman University's dental education framework.
He actively maintains professional standards through membership in the Turkish Dental Association and directs the university's Research and Application Center, which provides critical infrastructure for dental research, clinical training, and community oral health initiatives across southeastern Turkey.
