Prof. Dr. Osman Ayhan Erdem is a Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering, College of Technology, Gazi University. He completed all his academic degrees (BSc, MSc, PhD) at Gazi University's Institute of Science and Technology. His career spans roles as Research Assistant (1985-1989), Instructor (1989-2001), Assistant Professor (2001-2007), Associate Professor (2007-2013), and Professor since 2013.

- Co-founder of College of Technology Computer Engineering Department (2011)
- Served as Founding Deputy Dean (2011-2014)
His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence and its applications in Computer Networks, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and Image Processing. He has contributed to Cybersecurity and Fuzzy Logic systems, with over 161 WoS publications and 2581 total citations. His work includes text classification, content-based image retrieval systems, and generative AI (GPT) research.
