معرفی
Professor Orhan Yenigün has been affiliated with Bogazici University's Institute of Environmental Sciences since 1984, progressing from Instructor to Professor in 1995. His research focuses on environmental quality assessment, microplastics pollution, and machine learning applications in public health. Recent projects include TÜBİTAK-funded mosquito population modeling and BAP-supported microplastics studies in soil and freshwater ecosystems.
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, University of Wales Swansea (1984)
- M.S. in Chemical Engineering, University of Wales Swansea (1980)
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Middle East Technical University (1978)
Research interests span environmental engineering, climate change impacts, and machine learning for health surveillance. Current work examines microplastic effects on ecosystems and spatiotemporal disease forecasting.
Project highlights include:
- TÜBİTAK Belmont Project on mosquito population modeling (2021-2024)
- BAP-funded microplastics in soil studies (2020-2021)
- Microplastics impact on freshwater algae (2018-2019)
His publications address environmental quality modeling, biomass energy effects, and disease forecasting through machine learning approaches.
