Orestis Vlismas

Orestis Vlismas is an Associate Professor at the Department of Accounting and Finance within the School of Business Administration at Athens University of Economics and Business. Previously, he served as Assistant Professor (2019-2024) and as Laboratory Teaching Staff (2004-2019) at the same institution. His educational background includes a BSc in Business Organization & Management (1999), an MBA (2001), and a PhD in Accounting (2009), all completed at AUEB with doctoral funding from the Onassis Foundation.

His research explores the interrelationships between cost asymmetry, intangible assets, and business strategy, particularly their impact on accounting profit quality, financial soundness, operating performance, and tax avoidance policies. His work appears in journals such as European Accounting Review, Management Accounting Research, and Journal of Intellectual Capital.
