Oon Cheen Sean

Oon Cheen Sean is a Senior Lecturer at the Malaysia School of Engineering, Monash University. He leads the Thermofluids team within the Thermofluidics group and focuses on enhancing heat transfer media, computational modeling for heat exchangers, and anti-fouling research using carbon-based materials. He holds a dual Ph.D. from Liverpool John Moores University (UK) and the University of Malaya (Malaysia), with a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from the latter.

His research expertise includes heat transfer, fluid mechanics, nanomaterials, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Notable contributions include projects on colloidal aqueous suspensions for heat transfer enhancement and numerical simulations of heat exchanger performance. He has published over 40 articles, filed a patent, and received a gold medal at Malaysia Technology Expo.

Dr. Oon actively participates in academic activities, serving as a peer reviewer for journals like Journal of Molecular Liquids and Heliyon, and chairs the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (Malaysia Branch). He supervises final-year projects and contributes to sustainable development goals through his research in energy-efficient systems.
