Onyaglanu Idoko

Dr Onyaglanu Idoko is Lecturer in Prosperity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Co-Programme Leader of the MSc Prosperity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the UCL Institute for Global Prosperity, University College London. She previously held posts as Research Associate at Imperial College Business School and Lecturer at the University of Huddersfield Business School.

Research Interests

Dr Idoko’s research sits at the intersection of creativity and entrepreneurship. She investigates how novelty emerges in constrained contexts, with a dual focus on (i) cognitive-affective drivers of creativity and innovation, and (ii) the formation of transformative business models and regenerative innovations that reshape regional economies. She is currently exploring how new technologies amplify imagination and enable alternative futures for organising.

Publication Themes

Across her recent publications (2021–2023), a clear intellectual arc is visible: examining creative jolts that entrepreneurs experience when confronting existential feedback; analysing how strategic foresight tools perform and activate strategy within institutions; and tracing networked creativity through new digital infrastructures. Collectively, these works advance theory on creativity under constraint, performativity of strategy tools, and the social dynamics of innovation.

Teaching, Supervision & Outreach

Dr Idoko leads two core MSc modules—Transformative Entrepreneurship and Prosperity: Core Concepts and Transformative Entrepreneurship and Prosperity: Design—and co-directs the entire MSc programme. She is available for doctoral supervision, journal reviewing, conference speaking, consultancy, mentoring, and community outreach. She also hosts the Life of PIE podcast, engaging scholars and practitioners in reimagining entrepreneurship for social and environmental transformation.

She is an integral member of a multi-disciplinary research team investigating how regenerative innovations emerge and transform regional innovation economies, based at the UCL Institute for Global Prosperity.
