Onno Boxma

Prof. Onno Boxma is a Professor of Stochastic Operations Research at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Eindhoven University of Technology. His research focuses on queueing theory, performance analysis of computer, communication, production, and traffic systems, as well as applications in random walks and insurance risk.

• Honorary Professor at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh (since 2008)
• Editor-in-Chief of Queueing Systems (2004-2009)
• Coordinating Editor of Applied Probability Journals (since 2011)
• Scientific Director of Eurandom (2005-2011)

He has authored or co-authored five books and over 200 refereed papers. His accolades include the 2011 ACM SIGMETRICS Achievement Award, the 2014 Arne Jensen Lifetime Award from ITC, and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Haifa (2009).
