Omar Leon Sanchez

Dr. Omar Leon Sanchez is a Senior Lecturer in Pure Mathematics at The University of Manchester. His research focuses on model-theoretic algebra, differential fields, and their applications in mathematics. He holds a PhD from the University of Waterloo (2013) and has held positions including a Postdoctoral Fellowship at McMaster University (2013–2016) and a Turing Research Fellowship at The University of Manchester (2016–2020).

His research interests include model-theoretic properties of fields with operators (differential/difference operators, Poisson brackets), differential Galois theory, and differential algebraic geometry. He has contributed to topics such as neostability in derivation-like theories, Zilber dichotomy in differential fields, and Galois cohomology in differential algebraic groups.

Dr. Sanchez has supervised 3 students and has published extensively in areas like differential algebra, algebraic geometry, and cohomological methods. His work often bridges model theory with algebraic structures, contributing to foundational questions in mathematics.
