Omar Fawzi is a Research Director (Directeur de Recherche) at Inria, heading the QInfo team at École Normale Supérieure de Lyon. His primary roles include leading research in quantum information theory and theoretical computer science, with a focus on quantum algorithms, error-correcting codes, and quantum cryptography. He has held academic positions since 2011, including teaching at McGill University and ENS Lyon.
His research interests span quantum information theory, theoretical computer science, and their applications. He has contributed to foundational work on quantum channel capacities, entropy accumulation theorems, and quantum error correction codes like quantum expander codes.
