Omar Alajarmeh is an Associate Professor in Civil Composites at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ), affiliated with the Centre for Future Materials. He holds a BEng from Tafila Technical University, an MCivilEng from the University of Johannesburg (UJ), and a PhD from USQ (2020). His research focuses on advanced composite materials, particularly GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) reinforcement in concrete structures, durability under extreme conditions, pultrusion processes, and sustainable construction technologies. He has supervised numerous doctoral and master’s students in areas like composite reinforcing systems, seawall infrastructure, and dam monitoring.
Alajarmeh’s work spans structural performance of composites, climate-resilient materials, and innovative manufacturing techniques. His recent studies include low-velocity impact analysis of seawall panels, hygrothermal effects on flax fiber composites, and machine learning approaches for subsea pipeline pressure prediction. He actively contributes to international conferences and journals in civil and materials engineering.
His publications highlight advancements in FRP-reinforced concrete columns, pultrusion process optimization, and durability assessments under field conditions. Collaborations involve institutions like the University of Southern Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, and international partners, emphasizing interdisciplinary research in sustainable and resilient infrastructure.
