Omar AbdelGafar

Omar AbdelGafar is a Research Associate at the Chair of Engineering Geodesy within the TUM School of Engineering and Design at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). He holds a Master of Science in Geoinformatics Engineering from Politechnico di Milano (2023) and a Bachelor of Science in Geomatics Engineering from Benha University (2014).

His research focuses on geodetic deformation analysis, 3D modeling, and stochastic uncertainty quantification in terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) systems. He has contributed to the development of rigorous stochastic models for TLS measurements and urban digital twin benchmark datasets.

Recent publications highlight his work on TLS range variance determination for deformation monitoring and the creation of the TUM2TWIN multimodal urban digital twin dataset. These works emphasize applications in infrastructure monitoring and heterogeneous data integration for city management systems.
