Olu K. Orange serves as an Assistant Professor of the Practice (part-time) in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Southern California (USC). He is Director of the USC Dornsife Trial Advocacy Program and founder of the Agents of Change: Civil Rights Advocacy Initiative, the nation’s first undergraduate civil rights clinic. He holds dual roles as a practicing attorney and academic, focusing on civil rights litigation and legal education. His affiliations include USC Dornsife’s Office of Experiential and Applied Learning, National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA), and Harvard Law School’s Winter Trial Advocacy Workshop.

Research emphasizes developing legal strategies to combat governmental rights violations and federal civil rights litigation. His work bridges theory and practice through innovative programs like the Mock Trial Team and Pro Bono Endowments. Orange has secured landmark victories, including a $30M class action against unconstitutional gang injunctions.
Awards include the 2021 Top Lawyer of the Decade, three CLAY Awards, and multiple recognitions for mentoring. He actively serves on university committees and contributes to national legal initiatives through NITA and NLADA.
Orange advises USC’s Mock Trial Team and oversees experiential learning programs. His pro bono efforts include representing political activists and supporting indigent defense initiatives. He has authored curricula for trial advocacy and law-related political activism courses.
