Dr. Olivia Evans is a Gomeroi woman and Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the Australian National University's Research School of Psychology within the School of Medicine and Psychology. Born and raised in Newcastle, NSW on Awabakal land, she completed her PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Newcastle in 2019. Dr. Evans is actively engaged in groundbreaking research at the intersection of social identity, mental health, and equity issues.
Her research focuses on the impacts of inequality and status on social connectedness and mental health. Key areas include social class, socioeconomic status, inequality, social integration, social support, social connectedness, mental health, well-being, social media, identity, and equity in higher education.
