Olivia Bird

Olivia Bird is a Clinical Research Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Medicine, University of Oxford, conducting BCG challenge clinical trials under Professor Helen McShane.

Her educational background includes:

• MBChB and BSc in Epidemiology from the University of Edinburgh (2015)
• Foundation training in Wessex deanery
• Core Medical training in Thames Valley Deanery with specialty training number for Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases

Her research spans tuberculosis vaccine development, infectious disease clinical trials, and diagnostic modeling. She previously contributed to COVID-19 vaccine research at St George's University London, including phase 3 trials for ChAdOx1-s/nCoV-19 and Novavax, phase 1 trials for Covac, and symptom-based diagnostic modeling.

She is affiliated with the Tuberculosis research group at the Nuffield Department of Medicine.
