Olivera Košanin is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Forestry, University of Belgrade, specializing in Forest Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Soil Science. She holds a PhD in Forestry (2011) and has been actively involved in academic teaching since 1993, progressing through roles from Research Assistant to Full Professor (2022). Her teaching spans undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs in Forestry, Ecological Engineering, and Landscape Architecture. She is a member of the Serbian Society for Soil Studies and served as President of the Department of Forestry and Nature Protection Council (2019–present).
Dr. Košanin’s research focuses on soil morphology, forest ecology, and environmental degradation. She has authored over 121 publications, including studies on pedological mapping in Serbia, acidification processes in soils, and ecological characteristics of forest communities. She has supervised 12 doctoral dissertations, 23 master’s theses, and over 250 undergraduate projects, demonstrating her extensive academic mentorship.
Her work integrates pedology with environmental conservation, addressing topics such as forest site classification, soil degradation, and biodiversity assessment. She collaborates on national and international projects, contributing to sustainable land management and ecological restoration strategies.
