Oliver Drewes

Oliver Drewes is a Researcher and doctoral candidate at the University of Trier's Department of Western Government Systems under Prof. Dr. Uwe Jun. His research focuses on extremism, conspiracy theories, intelligence studies, and homeland security in Western democracies. He holds a First State Examination from Justus Liebig University Giessen and Loughborough University, specializing in philosophy, politics, and economics.

His doctoral project analyzes how intelligence services in Europe conceptualize new extremism types through conspiracy theories. He previously worked at the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (Giessen) and is affiliated with the Austrian Center for Intelligence, Propaganda and Security Studies (ACIPSS), where he edits the Journal for Intelligence, Propaganda and Security Studies (JIPSS).
