Oliver Cornely

Prof. Dr. Oliver Cornely is a Professor and serves as the Coordinator of the Clinical Trial Office (CTO) for the Bonn-Cologne location at the University Hospital Cologne, University of Cologne. He acts as the Location Spokesperson for the Bonn-Cologne clinical trial site and oversees operations across multiple German research hubs including Gießen-Marburg-Langen, Hamburg-Lübeck-Borstel-Riems, Hanover-Braunschweig, Heidelberg, and Munich.

His primary research focuses on Nephrology and Infectious Diseases, specifically investigating pneumonia prevention in dialysis patients with advanced kidney disease. He examines why pneumococcal vaccination efficacy is reduced in this immunocompromised population and develops strategies to improve protection against life-threatening infections.
