Olga Volkova is a Senior Lecturer of Russian and Head of the Russian Program in the Department of Languages at Clemson University. She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Indiana University (2014), specializing in Russian and British literature. Her research focuses on transnational literary links, particularly the Russian literary diaspora in China (1920s–1940s), and the influence of British Romanticism on Russian literature. She has taught courses on Russian culture, Soviet film, and comparative literature across institutions including Liverpool-Xi'an Jiaotong University.

Her research explores how Russian writers engaged with British literary traditions, as well as the cultural dynamics of Russian diaspora communities in Harbin. She has published widely on comparative Romanticism, Russian diaspora poetry, and translation studies.

Teaching spans undergraduate and graduate courses in Russian language/culture, Soviet modernity, and film history. She leads the Russian Area Studies Committee and Studies Abroad Committee at Clemson.
Labs/Teams: Active in interdisciplinary collaborations, particularly with the History Department on Russian film studies.
