Olga Velasco Roldán

Dr. Olga Velasco Roldán serves as Professor of Physiotherapy and Vice Dean at the Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy, University of the Balearic Islands since 2002. Her academic leadership extends beyond teaching to administrative responsibilities within the faculty.

Her educational journey includes a Graduate degree in Physiotherapy (1998), Graduate degree in Kinesiology and Physical Medicine (2007), and PhD from the University of Cádiz (2013). These qualifications established her expertise across multiple dimensions of physical therapy and rehabilitation science.

Dr. Velasco Roldán's research spans three interconnected domains: Health and Sports, Lifestyles and Health, and Chronic Pain. Her work investigates how physical activity prevents and treats musculoskeletal injuries, how lifestyle factors influence health outcomes, and develops evidence-based interventions for chronic pain conditions. She examines the physiological and psychological aspects of pain management within rehabilitation contexts.

As an active researcher, she contributes to the Cognitive-Affective Neuroscience and Clinical Psychology (CANCLIP) research group within the Neuroscience Department of the University Institute for Research in Health Sciences (IUNICS, UIB) and the Balearic Islands Health Research Institute (IdISBa). She also collaborates with the EVES (Evidence, Lifestyles and Health) research group, bridging clinical practice with scientific evidence.

Dr. Velasco Roldán's teaching portfolio demonstrates consistent engagement with physiotherapy education. Her office is located in room 206 of the Margalida Comas i Camps building, with tutoring by appointment.
