Ole Sveen

Ole Sveen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Natural Sciences, Practical-Aesthetic, Social and Religious Studies (RES) at Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences (HiOA). He specializes in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, sports training, and coaching. With over 25 years of experience in sport coaching and teacher education, he has held roles as a Research Coordinator and coach at the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee’s eastern region. His research focuses on exercise physiology, cardiac rehabilitation, and the psychological impacts of training interventions.

Education: Graduated from the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (NIH) and Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), specializing in Coaching and Counselling for Management and Training. His work includes studies on strength vs. power training efficacy, the role of sports in community social capital, and athlete role models in schools.

Media Engagement: Regular contributor to NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation) on topics like exercise for cardiac patients, youth sport leadership, and community health initiatives. Collaborates with institutions such as Wang VGS and St. Olav VGS to enhance educational and sports programs.
