Ola Sojak-Borodo is a Professor at the Department of Drawing within the Faculty of Arts at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin, Poland. She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń in 2005 with a degree in graphic arts specializing in drawing.
Her academic credentials include a doctorate in visual arts entitled 'Spaces of White' defended in 2011, and habilitation awarded in 2019 for her series 'Elementary Systems.' She serves as curator of the International Student Drawing Exhibition RYSOWAĆ since 2008.
Her artistic practice encompasses installations, objects, drawings, and performances that blend meditative and ascetic themes with humor and wit, emphasizing audience interaction and playfulness. She actively leads art workshops for children and young people while collaborating with artists including Katarzyna Skrobała and Grupa jajego on projects such as the large-scale social-artistic initiative 'Rubinkowo.'
Her research interests focus on contemporary drawing practices, visual communication, and the intersection of traditional techniques with interactive elements in artistic expression.
