Ola Norrman Eriksson is a Professor in Environmental Engineering at the University of Gävle (HiG) and an Associate Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. His work spans research, teaching, and PhD supervision, focusing on life cycle assessment (LCA) of technologies in construction, energy, and transport. He collaborates extensively with industry and public organizations, applying the ORWARE model for environmental systems analysis. Part-time as a senior researcher at Profu, he bridges academia and consultancy.
- Key Research Areas: LCA, circular economy, renewable energy systems, waste management, sustainable urban development.
- Affiliations: University of Gävle (full-time), KTH (associate professor), Profu (part-time).
His research explores environmental impacts of decentralized infrastructure systems, biogas production, and material recycling, often integrating technical and socio-economic dimensions. Recent articles analyze circularity metrics, energy self-sufficiency in neighborhoods, and sustainability trade-offs in construction.
He contributes to developing environmental assessment frameworks for buildings (e.g., EcoEffect) and evaluates policy instruments for sustainable waste management. Articles emphasize systems thinking, energy recovery from waste, and the environmental-economic interplay in resource efficiency.
Collaborations include Stockholm Energi, IVL Swedish Environmental Institute, and Nordic Council of Ministers. His ORWARE model is pivotal for LCA studies in Sweden and Denmark.
