Dr. Oeida Hatcher is a Professor of Music and Dean of the School of Communication and the Arts at the University of Lynchburg. She holds a DMA from Shenandoah Conservatory and has held key roles including Music Department Chair and instrumental conductor. Her research focuses on computer-based multimedia applications in instrumental music education.

Research Interests: Dr. Hatcher's work bridges traditional music education with modern technology, emphasizing multimedia tools for teaching instrumental methods. She has presented her research across the US and Europe. As a guest conductor and clinician, she actively engages with both K-12 and university settings.
Labs/Teams: She leads the Wind Symphony and Orchestra ensembles at the University of Lynchburg through her conducting roles. Additionally, she directs music programs at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Lynchburg.
