Oda Dypvik Bjørke

Oda Dypvik Bjørke is a PhD student and Research Fellow in the Department of Music Pedagogy and Music Therapy at the Norwegian Academy of Music, conducting groundbreaking research under the CREAM center since September 2025.

Her work focuses on music therapy interventions for psychotic disorders, specifically investigating affect regulation processes through qualitative analysis of therapy sessions. Using a multi-method approach including video/audio session recordings, interdisciplinary FACT team observations, and patient interviews, she examines how music therapy influences emotional states in psychosis treatment. This research bridges clinical psychology, neuroaesthetics, and community mental health services, contributing to evidence-based practices in severe mental illness care.

Funded through her research fellowship position, Bjørke collaborates with Flexible Active Community Treatment (FACT) teams to develop clinically relevant insights. Her project supervised by Associate Professor Hans Petter Sollie and Professor Gro Trondalen represents a significant advancement in music therapy's application within psychiatric care systems.
