Oana-Andreea Ion

Oana-Andreea Ion is a Lecturer in the Department of International Relations and European Integration at the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA) in Bucharest. She holds degrees in Political Sciences and Communications, a Master's in International Relations, and a PhD focused on Current Approaches to European Union Governance from SNSPA. In 2015, she was awarded a Jean Monnet module at SNSPA.

Her research examines European Union governance mechanisms, the development of European public spheres, and the intersection of media frameworks with freedom of expression in EU contexts. She leads the EU*Ro MEDIA project analyzing media standards during Romania's EU Council Presidency.

Ion has organized several academic events exploring national perspectives on EU Council Presidencies, including analyses of Dutch, Slovak and Polish approaches to EU leadership.
