معرفی
Nønne Prisle is a Professor in Atmospheric Sciences and Director of the Center for Atmospheric Research at the University of Oulu, Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering. Her work combines experimental, theoretical, and computational approaches to study aerosol nano-particles, interfacial water, cloud microphysics, and thermodynamics, with implications for air pollution and Earth's climate.
- Education:
- Docent in Atmospheric Physics (University of Helsinki, 2015)
- PhD in Chemistry (University of Copenhagen, 2009)
- M.Sc. in Physics and Chemistry (University of Copenhagen, 2006)
- B.Sc. in Theoretical Physics (University of Southern Denmark, 2004)
Her research spans atmospheric sciences, surface chemistry, and thermodynamics, focusing on nanoscale particle interactions and their role in climate systems. She contributes to international environmental research collaborations and studies industry/traffic emissions.
Scientific Awards and Recognition:
- ERC Starting Grant (2016)
- Academy of Finland Research Fellow (2017)
- Nordic Society for Aerosol Research (NOSA) Aerosologist Award (2020)
- AcademiaNet appointment for female researchers (2021)
She serves as Associate Editor for Environmental Science: Atmospheres (Royal Society of Chemistry) and holds leadership roles in professional organizations like the Finnish Synchrotron Radiation User Organization (FSRUO) and Finnish Association for Aerosol Research (FAAR).
