Salk Institute for Biological Studiesمعرفی
Nuttida Rungratsameetaweemana is a postdoctoral researcher in neuroscience at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, affiliated with the Computational Neurobiology Laboratory led by Terrence Sejnowski. She holds a PhD in neuroscience from the University of California San Diego (UC San Diego), where she collaborated with John Serences and Larry Squire on brain injury studies. Her research focuses on understanding neural mechanisms underlying sensory processing, decision-making under uncertainty, and memory disorders like Alzheimer’s and schizophrenia. She also investigates seizure prediction using computational models and intracranial brain recordings.
Education:
- Middlebury College (undergraduate)
- PhD in Neuroscience, UC San Diego (2014–2020)
- Salk Institute Postdoctoral Researcher (current)
Her work combines experimental data with computational modeling to simulate neural activity in the human brain. Key interests include probabilistic neural computation, epilepsy prediction, and the interplay between memory and behavior. She received the Anuradha Rao Memorial Award (2020/2021) for her contributions to neuroscience research. Her projects are supported by grants such as funding from the US Army Research Laboratory.
Nuttida’s lab collaborations include the Computational Neurobiology Laboratory and interdisciplinary teams at UC San Diego’s VA Medical Center. Beyond research, she maintains a passion for drawing and reflects on her Thai heritage, including the origin of her surname, which symbolizes perseverance.
