معرفی
Nuria Morfin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology at the University of Victoria. She also serves as the Lead of the Technology Transfer Program for the British Columbia Honey Producers Association, bridging academic research with industry applications in apiculture. Morfin is recognized as an MSFHR Scholar and a member of the Royal Society of Canada College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists.
Research Focus: Morfin’s work centers on honey bee immunology, pesticide impacts on pollinators, and molecular mechanisms of pathogen resistance. Her projects explore lipidomic changes in bee brains, antioxidant properties of stingless bee honey, and viral dynamics in wild pollinators.
Recent Publications (2020-2024): Morfin’s research covers neonicotinoid effects on immunity, Varroa destructor resistance breeding, and honey composition analysis. Key methodologies include qPCR viral quantification, 1H NMR brain profiling, and meta-analytic comparisons of honey properties.
