Nuria Casamitjana

Dr. Nuria Casamitjana is the Director of Training at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) and a Professor with over 25 years of experience at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Barcelona (UB). She contributes to academic leadership through co-directing the Master's Degree in Global Health at ISGlobal and UB and coordinating the International Health specialty in UB's Clinical Research Master's program.

Her work spans global health education, research, and outreach, with notable contributions including co-founding CRESIB (2006) and participating in the establishment of ISGlobal (2010). She has held senior administrative roles at UB, such as vice-president and president of the Department of Health Sciences and vice-rector (2002–2005).

Dr. Casamitjana actively promotes global health through outreach in Spain, Latin America, and Africa. She serves on the governing boards of tropED and the European Academic Global Health Alliance (EAGHA), and represents UB in the EUROLIFE International Health Alliance and the Coimbra Group's ACP Countries Working Group, focusing on higher education cooperation in developing regions.
