Nuri BİNGÖL is an Assistant Professor at Uskudar University, holding multiple significant administrative roles including Vice Dean of the Health Sciences Faculty, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Department, and Deputy Head of the Institute of Natural Sciences. With a strong background in both Computer Engineering and Occupational Health and Safety, he bridges technology and workplace safety disciplines. His academic journey spans from Yıldız Technical University (BSc in Computer Engineering, 1994) through Okan University (MSc in Occupational Health and Safety, 2013) to Istanbul Ticaret University (PhD in Occupational Health and Safety, 2019).
His educational background reflects a unique interdisciplinary path. He earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from Yıldız Technical University in 1994, followed by a Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety from Okan University in 2013, and completed his Doctorate in Occupational Health and Safety at Istanbul Ticaret University in 2019. Before entering academia, he gained extensive industry experience since 1994, working in various computer engineering and management roles, including as a General Manager of a company.
Dr. BİNGÖL's research interests span the intersection of artificial intelligence and occupational safety, with specific focus areas including AI applications in workplace safety, machine learning for risk assessment, disaster management systems, and safety engineering in industrial environments. His work demonstrates how computational approaches can enhance traditional occupational health and safety practices, particularly in high-risk industries like mining, energy production, and construction.
His recent publications reveal a clear trend toward integrating artificial intelligence technologies with occupational health and safety applications. Many of his 2023-2025 works focus on AI-driven safety systems, predictive analytics for workplace hazards, and technology-enhanced risk assessment methodologies. His research spans multiple sectors including energy production, mining, healthcare logistics, and environmental management, showing his interdisciplinary approach to safety engineering problems.
Dr. BİNGÖL has successfully supervised numerous graduate students, with thesis topics covering AI applications in audiometry, beekeeping disease detection, crime pattern analysis, learning disability assessment, and social network security. His academic leadership extends to teaching courses ranging from foundational AI principles to specialized safety engineering topics across undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs.
His administrative leadership includes coordinating multiple university initiatives including Remote Education, Digital Transformation, Erasmus programs, and Bologna processes. He also serves as Head of the ÜSUZEM Research Center and participates in various national standardization committees related to occupational safety. His project portfolio includes significant TÜBİTAK-funded research on safety systems, emergency response applications, and AI-based safety solutions.
