Dr. Norbert Szabó is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Business and Economics, University of Pécs, Hungary. Holding a BA and MSc in Economics from the same institution, he earned his doctoral degree in 2021 for work on EU regional innovation policy modeling.

His research focuses on regional economic development, input-output modeling, general equilibrium modeling, and economic policy analysis. He has developed regional growth models for evaluating EU's Smart Specialization Strategy (S3) and commuting infrastructure investments. Current work emphasizes multisectoral economic interactions and policy impact assessments.
Publications span regional development, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and knowledge network modeling, appearing in journals like Regional Studies and Papers in Regional Science. He currently teaches regional economics, macroeconomics, and multisectoral modeling in both Hungarian and English.
Previously affiliated with the Innovation and Economic Growth Research Group at MTE-PTE (2014-2022), he has contributed to multiple national and international research projects focused on regional innovation systems.
