Noemie Perret is a Research Fellow (CR) at CNRS, affiliated with the IRCELYON institute in Lyon, France. She holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University (2012) and a Master's in Materials and Process Engineering from Joseph Fourier University (2008). Her research focuses on catalysis, sustainable chemistry, and biomass conversion, with a particular emphasis on designing catalysts for hydrogenation, dehydrogenation, and CO₂ conversion reactions. She has received prestigious awards including the CNRS Bronze Medal (2021) and the Young Researcher Award from the French Chemical Society (2023).
- Affiliations: C'Durable team (IRCELYON), former CFDA team (IRCELYON)
- Roles: Scientific Manager in multiple ANR and CNRS projects, co-supervisor of PhD students
Her research interests span heterogeneous catalysis, sustainable chemical processes, and green energy applications. She has led or participated in projects such as HYDROCARB (ANR), AMICAT (Emergence@INC), and NitroLoop (CNRS Energy Cell), focusing on catalyst development for bio-based chemicals and renewable energy systems.
Publications highlight innovations in catalyst design for biomass conversion (e.g., cellulose-to-glycols), CO₂ hydrogenation, and selective hydrogenation of bio-derived substrates. Her work integrates experimental catalysis with advanced characterization techniques (e.g., in situ microscopy, operando spectroscopy).
- Awards: CNRS Bronze Medal, MacFarlane Prize (2013), Best PhD Thesis (2012)
- Grants: ANR JCJC, CNRS Energy Cell
She actively contributes to the French Chemical Society (SCF), serving as President of its Rhône-Alpes section (2020-2023) and organizing regional conferences and outreach events like Chimie Avenir.
Her lab focuses on sustainable catalytic solutions, with expertise in materials synthesis (MOFs, carbon-supported nanocatalysts), reaction engineering, and green chemistry processes.
