Noemi Imfeld is a Researcher (PostDoc) at the Institute of Geography, University of Bern, specializing in climatology. She holds a BSc in Geosciences from the University of Basel (2013) and an MSc in Climate Sciences from the University of Bern (2016). Her career includes an internship at Meteoswiss for the Climandes Project (2017/2018) and roles as a scientific assistant and PhD student (since 2020) at the Institute of Geography.
Her research focuses on weather reconstruction, climate variability in Western Europe, and climatic patterns in the Central Andes. Key interests include precipitation trends, temperature analysis, and historical upper-air measurements. Methodologically, she addresses error assessments in climate datasets and develops climatic indices to understand regional impacts.
Her projects include reconstructing daily weather patterns to study past climate variability and analyzing precipitation deficits in the Peruvian Highlands. This work bridges historical data analysis with modern climatic modeling to inform regional environmental strategies.
Advising and grants: While primarily a researcher, her PhD work (since 2020) positions her as an emerging scholar in climatology. No formal grants or advising roles are explicitly listed. She collaborates with institutions like Meteoswiss and international teams studying Andean climate systems.
