Noel Gately

Noel Gately is Lecturer at Atlantic Technological University's Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, where he serves as Centre Manager of the Applied Polymer Technologies Gateway within the PRISM Research Institute. His research focuses on polymer science, additive manufacturing, and sustainable materials.

His investigations explore structure-property relationships in 3D-printed polymers (PEKK, PEEK), sustainable polymer blends, antimicrobial materials, and biomaterials for medical applications including wound healing hydrogels, vaginal drug delivery systems, and prosthetic devices. Recent projects include DFIT-funded development of next-generation ostomy care products and sustainable packaging solutions.

Dr. Gately coordinates interdisciplinary collaborations on functional biomaterials and circular economy initiatives, securing €4.1 million in equipment funding and €2.67M DTIF project support.
