معرفی
Prof. Noam Berger is an Associate Professor in the Department of Probability Theory at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), within the School of Computation, Information and Technology. His research focuses on stochastic processes, particularly random walks in random media, long-range percolation, and their applications in mathematical physics. He obtained his PhD from UC Berkeley and has held academic roles at institutions including Hebrew University and CalTech before joining TUM in 2012.
Education:
- Bachelor/Master: Hebrew University of Jerusalem
- PhD in Statistics: University of California, Berkeley
Research Interests: Berger’s work centers on understanding structural properties of randomness in complex systems. Key areas include:
- Random walks in random environments and their ballistic behavior
- Long-range percolation models and critical phenomena
- Interacting particle systems and growth processes
Grants & Collaborations: While specific grants are not listed, Berger’s involvement in TUM’s Probability Theory group reflects engagement with collaborative projects in stochastic analysis and mathematical physics. His research contributes to the SPP 2265 priority program on Random Geometric Systems.
Labs/Teams: Member of the Probability Theory research group at TUM, actively participating in workshops like the “New Developments in Random Interacting Systems” (2024).
