Her research centers on post-1970 Caribbean literary and cultural production, with expertise in narrative theory, sound studies, trauma and memory, Afrofuturism, and Caribbean popular music. She examines how Caribbean subjects engage with nation music amid memory disruptions from time, travel, or trauma, as explored in her monograph "Phonographic Memories" (Rutgers, 2019). Her current project "The Physics of Caribbean Time" analyzes time-bending novels through physics and Caribbean theoretical frameworks.
