Nizar Touzi is a Professor and Department Chair of Finance and Risk Engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. He holds a PhD from University Paris Dauphine (1994) and has held academic roles at institutions including University Pantheon Sorbonne, ENSAE, Imperial College London, and Ecole Polytechnique (2006–2023), where he led the financial mathematics group and served as head of the doctoral school in Mathematics (2021–2023).
His research focuses on financial mathematics, applied probability, and control theory. Notable distinctions include the Louis Bachelier Prize (2012) and Paris Europlace Prize (2007). He has secured prestigious grants, including an ERC Advanced Grant, and serves on editorial boards of top journals in his field.
Touzi has advised numerous research initiatives and contributed to academic leadership roles across multiple institutions. His work bridges theoretical advancements and practical applications in quantitative finance and risk engineering.
