Professor Nizan Geslevich Packin holds a joint appointment as Professor of Law at Baruch College’s Zicklin School of Business and is affiliated with the Department of Law. She is an expert in financial regulation, tech policy, privacy law, and consumer protection, with a focus on emerging technologies like AI, blockchain, and FinTech. Her research bridges legal frameworks and practical policy, addressing issues such as algorithmic bias, digital markets, and regulatory compliance.
Education includes an SJD from the University of Pennsylvania, LLM from Columbia Law School, and BA/LLB from Haifa University. Prior to academia, she practiced corporate law at Skadden Arps and served as a law clerk at the Israeli Supreme Court.
Her work has been published in top-tier journals like Science, Harvard Law Review, and Cardozo Law Review. She edits The Cambridge Handbook on the Law and Policy of NFTs and contributes op-eds to Forbes, Bloomberg, and the Wall Street Journal. Recognitions include the 2023 Zicklin Teaching Innovation Award and multiple grants for research on AI ethics and consumer protection.
Teaching includes courses like Financial Regulation of Emerging Technologies and Business Law. She advises regulators on open banking and crypto policy and collaborates internationally through visiting appointments at NYU, Goethe University, and the Annenberg School.
