Prof. Dr. Nivedita Prasad is Professor of Action Methods and Gender-Specific Social Work at Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences Berlin (ASH Berlin). Since 2013 she has held a professorship at ASH Berlin, serving as Program Director of the Master's program 'Social Work as a Human Rights Profession' (MRMA) since 2010. Her academic work centers on human rights frameworks in social work practice with a focus on structural discrimination, intersectionality, and gender-based violence.

She has developed methodologies for structural change in social work practice and critically examines how racism manifests in academic settings.
Her scholarly output reveals increasing attention to digital violence, intersectionality, and anti-racist frameworks in social work. Her publications bridge theoretical frameworks with practical applications, emphasizing participatory action research methodologies that center marginalized voices and promote structural transformation in social work practice.

Prof. Prasad currently supervises multiple doctoral students working on human rights in social work contexts, including research on refugee experiences, Black resistance movements, and violence against migrant women. She serves on the editorial boards of the Anti-Trafficking Review and Journal of Human Rights and Social Work, is a board member of the German Institute for Human Rights, and advises HateAid. Her public engagement includes videos on intersectionality and podcasts addressing digital gender-based violence.
