Dr. Nithya Natarajan is a Senior Lecturer in International Development at King's College London. Her research examines agrarian change, labour precarity, and gendered debt in South India and Cambodia. She holds a PhD from SOAS, University of London, and leads the GCRF project 'Depleted by Debt,' analyzing climate resilience and microfinance impacts.
Her work explores:

- Gendered dimensions of debt and social reproduction
- Modern slavery drivers in Cambodia's brick kilns
Recent publications analyze microfinance's role in climate precarity and COVID-19 impacts on financial inclusion in Tamil Nadu. She teaches Project Management and supervises PhD candidates in agrarian studies and labour migration.
