Nithin Amirth Jayasree

Dr Nithin Amirth Jayasree serves as a Research Reader at Brunel University London within the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences, leading research in non-metallics, composites, and multiphysics modelling. His work addresses structural integrity, sustainability, hydrogen economy infrastructure, CCUS applications, and advanced manufacturing solutions for defence, aerospace, energy, and automotive sectors.

His research program focuses on thermoplastic composites, multiphysics simulation, and sustainable manufacturing processes. Key initiatives include developing self-heated composite tooling for out-of-autoclave production, defect analysis in bonded joints, and automated assembly systems for aerospace fuselages. Current projects target hydrogen storage infrastructure, marine propeller technology, smart wind turbine blades, and graphene-enhanced composite sensors.

Recent publications demonstrate expertise in thermoplastic composite manufacturing, adhesive bonding reliability, and process optimization through building block methodologies. His work bridges computational modeling with industrial applications, emphasizing structural performance validation and sustainable production techniques across aerospace and energy sectors.

Dr Jayasree supervises PhD research including projects on conducting polymer composites and leads multiple funded initiatives such as HyPStore (hydrogen storage), JIDEP (industrial data exchange), CoPropel (marine propulsion), and ESENSE (graphene sensor tooling). His research is supported by defense, aerospace, and energy sector grants targeting sustainable manufacturing innovation.

As Head of BCC research group and member of IMM, he directs composite materials research with industrial partnerships across defence, aerospace, and renewable energy applications. His teams specialize in thermoplastic composite processing, structural health monitoring, and next-generation manufacturing systems for critical infrastructure components.
