Dr. Nitesh Goyal is an Adjunct Professor at the New York University Computer Science Department, based in Stamford, CT, United States. His work bridges Safety and AI, focusing on Responsible AI and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to address critical challenges in online harassment mitigation and bias reduction in criminal justice systems.
- Education: MSc in Computer Science from UC Berkeley and RWTH Aachen; PhD in Information Science from Cornell University.
His research explores collaborative sensemaking, leveraging Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and NLP to empower users and reduce systemic biases. He has developed ML-based tools such as Harassment Manager and moderation systems for platforms like OpenWeb, emphasizing ethical AI integration in societal workflows.
