Nishal Shah is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rice University, a core member of the Rice Neuroengineering Initiative, and a McNair Medical Scholar. His research focuses on computational approaches to neural circuit interfacing and vision restoration through retinal stimulation.
Education:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Stanford University (2020)
- B.S./M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (2013)
Research Interests: Intracortical BCIs, electrical stimulation, closed-loop systems, computational neuroscience, and neural signal processing. His lab develops real-time computational tools for high-resolution neural interfacing and explores representation of complex movements in the brain.
