Nipun Goel

Dr. Nipun Goel serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering and Design at Western Washington University, joining the institution in September 2021. His research centers on heat transfer and thermodynamics with direct applications in renewable energy technologies.

His educational background includes:

• Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University
• B.Tech in Power Engineering from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (Delhi, India)

Prior professional experience encompasses a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at Boise State University and two years as an Energy Scientist for a Los Angeles startup, where he evaluated consumer appliance efficiency and developed utility programs to incentivize energy savings.

Dr. Goel's research spans critical renewable energy domains including Concentrated Solar Power, Thermoelectrics, Photovoltaics, and Energy Storage systems. His work bridges fundamental thermodynamics with practical sustainable energy solutions, particularly in solar thermal applications.
