Ninni Wahlström is a Professor of Education and leads the LINNAEUS-SITE research environment at Linnaeus University, Sweden. She specializes in curriculum theory, educational policy, and pedagogy, with a focus on transnational policy discourses and their classroom implications. Her work addresses equity, democratic education, and the intersection of globalization with national educational frameworks.
Key research projects include investigating teaching gaps and knowledge segregation, evaluating Sweden's Lgr 11 curriculum reform, and exploring rural entrepreneurship through education. She has authored/co-authored influential books such as Equity, Teaching Practice and the Curriculum (2022) and Transnational curriculum standards and classroom practices (2018).
Wahlström holds leadership roles in the John Dewey Society and serves on editorial boards of journals like Journal of Curriculum Studies. Her awards include the 2023 Book Author Prize for Course Literature. She advocates for research-informed teacher education and democratic school practices.
